Don Birria

Pretty disappointed with Don Birria. Have been going to them since their Scarborough pop up days, followed them into Mt Lawley. The Scarborough days were awesome; top quality, amazing flavours, good service. The first couple of visits at their Mt Lawley store about a month after they had opened were great too. However, since then, quality has gone down significantly. The last few times we have been there they have consistently been out of stock of items (chips, guacamole, even beef!). The quality of meat has cheapened, the last few times chewing on some extremely fatty bits and having a big piece in the taco that resembled a ventricle (tube-y pieces that were definitely not meant to be in there). Not to mention the quantity served in the tacos has reduced. The tacos have become dry and lack flavour; today they tasted completely bland. There is no standard of quality; every time we have been there it has tasted different or looked different, be it the size of the tacos, the flavours, the dryness. The only reason Don Birria continues to stand is because there is no competition for them to keep up their standard and quality. It has really disappointed us the last few months and we will not be returning.

I know this is basic Birria fillings but it would be nice to see other fillings as standard. Other fillings such as guacamole, salsa and Mexican cheese are additional cost.I found the consommé broth that you dip tacos into too salty. I personally wouldn’t order it next time and would recommend the tacos on its own. They are tasty without the brothOverall, I liked them for basic, large tacos but would prefer a couple of more toppings included. Unsure if they are the best tacos I’ve tasted at this stage

LOVEEEE THIS PLACE!After seeing this place on TikTok for a while I decided to take the 35minuet travel to try the food.Definitely wasn't disappointed! The drive was well worth it!Cannot wait to visit again and try the rest of the menu!

Definitely some hype out this place, the building itself is small and best suited to takeaway or eat on the go.The quesabirrias" tacos were tasty little bit spicy and I personally felt they could have had more cheese! Not worth paying extra for the consomme as they had enough flavour and the crispy corn shell doesn't absorb the liquid that well.Quesadilla was tasty and well seasoned as well.Bottled salsas available for topping and soft drinks too."

We were looking for supper around Mt Lawley after a long day. Stumbled upon this place and decided to order soft taco chicken $18.The chicken reminded us of tandoori chicken with Mexican twist to it. It's spicy, tasty and full of flavour. Just all round great tacos. Two sauces were given and the creamy one was the better match.Will def be back to try other dish.

Great birria tacos and good atmosphere. I paid extra for the consommé dip to accompany the tacos, probably wasn’t worth it, but I guess that’s what you do when you get birria. The place was packed. I’m keen to go back and try the loaded fries.

Amazing Birria and the loaded fries were loadedly tasty. Always a delight.
